Former King Gyanendra Shah has expressed grief over the damage caused by the flood and landslide. He said that it is unfortunate that large human and material losses are caused due to the lack of advance preparedness and early response when there is a seasonal advance warning that there may be heavy rains.
He has also mentioned that he is seriously concerned about the fact that many highways and road networks have been blocked at this time when our important festivals like Dasain Tihar are approaching and this is causing inconvenience to people’s lives.
In addition, he requested the government to make appropriate efforts to provide proper relief to the families of the deceased, search for the missing persons and prompt treatment of the injured.
